In October, the Polish national team beat Albania 1-0 in Tirana, but after the meeting more than the result, it was said about the scandalous behavior of the fans of the host country. The FIFA Disciplinary Committee imposed a generous penalty on Albanians.
After Karol Świderski’s goal, bottles full of water and other objects flew towards the Polish players. The referee stopped the match for 20 minutes and called the two teams to the dressing room.
In the end the match is over. In extra time and after the final whistle, the local fans began to throw our players again, unable to accept the unfavorable result.
However, the World Federation had no doubts that the hosts of the October match should be severely punished. It was decided to close the stadium for the next home match (against Andorra, in the final round of elections for the World Cup).
The dairy will also have to pay a hefty fine. It amounts to 150,000 Swiss francs, which is approximately 650,000 PLN.
– The Federation regrets the decision taken and will take all necessary steps to ensure that such situations caused by some people do not occur in the future and do not harm our national team in its international matches. The Federation will assess the possibility of appealing this decision within the specified period – Napisano.
