This is the factory in Forest, where a galvanic line was launched in 2020, costing around 1 million euros. However, the auto industry did not place enough orders to make production profitable. Today, when the cost of both energy and materials is increasing, the factory has no future. This was stated by Danny Kelm, Chief Operating Officer of BIA Group.
They supply components for luxury cars
The services of this supplier subsidiary were used by such brands as Audi and Mercedes, and one of its main products is perhaps the most famous element of the cars of the manufacturer from Stuttgart, that is, the star that appears on the hoods.
It is one of the most valuable brands, registered in 1909. It used to be placed in almost every car, but today it only appears on E-class, S-class and Maybachs, and it has recently disappeared from the C-class except for cars for the Chinese market.
The manufacturer had to deal with low demand for chrome elements for a long time. It’s just that new cars have fewer and fewer details.
The BIA Group is made up of seven legally independent units, four in Germany and one each in Slovakia, China and Mexico. Founded in 1996, the company employs around 850 people at its headquarters in Solingen, who produce more than 1,100 components in 47 injection molding machines and four electroplating lines.
