AYANEO 2 – A portable gaming console with AMD Ryzen 7 6800U processor, announced. Performance up to 2x higher than Steam Deck

Handheld game consoles are becoming more and more popular, as evidenced by high-profile solutions like the Nintendo Switch or Steam Deck, which debuted a few weeks ago. The hardware from Valve was one of the first portable consoles to offer an AMD processor with an integrated graphics chip, based on the RDNA 2 architecture. However, we will soon have a more powerful device. The Chinese brand AYANEO, also known for the production of subsequent “mobile devices”, has confirmed work on its latest model AYANEO 2. The mobile console will be equipped with one of the most powerful APU processors of this type of design – AMD Ryzen 7 6800U from the Rembrandt family.

AYANEO 2 is the latest portable gaming device. As the first among similar solutions, it will offer an AMD Ryzen 7 6800U processor with a Radeon 680M graphics chip and LPDDR5 6400 MHz RAM.

AMD Ryzen 7 6800U has the most powerful integrated graphics chip – Radeon 680M, based on RDNA 2 architecture and equipped with 12 CU blocks. This processor will be the heart of the latest AYANEO 2 console. The developers promise that in selected games the performance can be twice as high as that offered by Steam Deck. AYANEO 2 will operate in two different modes – 15W or 28W, which is exactly what the included AMD Rembrandt processor allows according to its official specifications. Of course, when choosing an upper power limit, we must take into account a shorter battery operating time – although on the other hand we will get a higher efficiency.

Steam Deck is a great mare. Photos of the console appeared on the Web, including with the switch. Will it be comfortable?

AYANEO 2 is likely to receive an IPS screen with a diagonal of 7 inches and a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The manufacturer also assures that the screen does not have a blind spot around the main matrix. All space will be used 100 percent. There will also be a fingerprint reader and Windows 11. Unfortunately, no more information has been revealed about the exact specifications. We will have to wait at least six months for the console itself – its debut on the market is scheduled for the end of 2022.
