CD Projekt RED confirmed the news, which would be obvious to many, but in recent days there have been noises regarding free content for Cyberpunk 2077. The developers responded and reported that Phantom Liberty will be a paid expansion.
CD Projekt RED has big plans for the world of Cyberpunk 2077. In recent days, the game has received an update that has improved the gameplay on the latest consoles, and Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty will come out next year. This is the first and last story expansion for the game from 2020.
The studio previously announced that Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty would be a paid add-on, but in recent days there have been rumors that the adventure will be offered for free.
Gamesradar + editors decided to check the situation and Radek Grabowski (Global PR Manager at CD Projekt RED) confirmed it. Extension will be paid:
“As for the price of the extension – we haven’t revealed the exact details yet, but it will be paid.”
CD Projekt RED hasn’t confirmed pricing yet, however Grabowski reported that “Our expansions are traditionally cheaper than full games”so we can suspect that the adventure will be available at a lower price compared to the classic PLN 199.
In 2023, CD Projekt RED will open a new studio in Boston, which will develop a completely new version of Cyberpunk.
