The largest universities in Lodz are switching to distance education or co-education. The constant increase in the number of infections has led to the gradual abandonment of contact classes. How do you view individual universities?
The University of Lodz has offered online classes at its largest colleges, says university spokesperson, Bowie Schubowicz. – Includes: Faculty of Philology, Management, Economics and Sociology. Deans of other colleges make their decisions on an ongoing basis, based on the number of cases of illness among students and lecturers.
As of November, part-time studies are being conducted at the Social Academy of Sciences online – the representative of the rector, prof. Robert Seliga. – On the other hand, full-time studies have mixed classes: the exercises are conducted in communication, while the lectures are online. The Lodz University of Technology has also put in place blended classes.
Decisions about offering online classes are accepted by students with understanding – says Magda Lewandowska, head of student government at the Social Academy of Sciences. – Now it is really our daily life at university, and often also in professional life. The most important thing is the health of students and teachers. Moreover – it is good to start a lecture at 8 in the morning in a warm bed.
Currently, online classes continue until the beginning of January. Later, universities want to return to full-time education. Winter session – also in full contact.
