Turkish media reports said the Justice and Development Party’s Central Executive Committee, led by Recep Tayyip Erdogan, met on Wednesday, July 26 after a month-long hiatus. The President of Turkey, inter alia, said about the role of the country’s foreign policy in resolving the grain crisis caused by the war between Russia and Ukraine. He also praised the Turkish arms industry, he wrote on the takvim.com.tr portal.
At a press conference, Recep Tayyip Erdogan was asked about his recent meeting with Vladimir Putin. The Turkish president later revealed that he had “received very different offers” from the Russian president.
– Vladimir Putin indicated his desire to cooperate with Baykar. We also received an offer from the United Arab Emirates to set up a plant for Bikar there. All this shows how far the Turkish defense industry has come, Erdogan said, the Turkish portal internethaber.com reported.
Earlier, the CEO of the Turkish company Baykar said that he would not agree to sell Bayraktar drones to Russia. He also stressed that he supports Ukraine in its struggle for independence.
The Russian news agency TASS, citing a Kremlin spokesman, reported that Vladimir Putin will meet with Recep Tayyip Erdogan again. The presidents of Russia and Turkey are expected to meet in Sochi on August 5. Dmitry Peskov refused to answer the question of whether Russia seeks cooperation with Baykar, but said that “the issue of military-technical cooperation will certainly be discussed.”
