Next year, Starfield will appear for the first time, in a few years we will play The Elder Scrolls 6, while the developers of Bethesda are already planning what will be their next project. During an interview with IGN’s editorial office, Todd Howard confirmed that Fallout 5 will be the next game that the professionals will tackle.
Bethesda Game Studios is an experienced studio that announced two productions a few years ago: Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6. The first, set in a cosmic reality, the title is coming to market next year, but we still have to be patient while we wait for the premiere of the new TES .
Todd Howard told IGN journalist that Elder Scrolls 6 is still in pre-production, and its developers have had full graphics for a decade or more.
“Yes, Elder Scrolls 6 is in pre-production and we will be in Fallout 5 after that, so our schedule is pretty full. We also have some other projects to look forward to from time to time.”
Work began at Starfield in 2015, so the full production process of the new IP will take 8 years. Even if we assume that creating the game in the previously developed universe will take less time, the appearance of The Elder Scrolls 6 is expected in 2028, so in the best conditions, Fallout 5 will appear around 2032. When creating a new element, the team may encounter many variables, such as An AI attack or a mushroom pandemic decimating Earth’s population (;)) – Each of these situations will affect Bethesda’s work schedule.
The developer admitted that the process of creating a new title takes a lot of time, but the entire studio is driven by the desire to develop the best game:
“It takes a while, I’d like them to get out faster, really, we’re doing our best, but we want them to be the best for everyone.”
Interestingly, Todd Howard also mentioned “a few more projects,” so it’s likely that other titles from Bethesda Game Studios will hit the market over the next decade.
