On Monday afternoon, Grzegorz Krychowiak may celebrate the first goal in the Greek league. The pole opened the score in the match between AEK Athens and PAS Janina.
The Polish delegate went to Greece in mid-March, when he was loaned from Krasnodar. He decided to change the club due to the invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces.
However, Janina was in the starting lineup for Monday’s match against the Basha Party. Another Polish footballer, Damien Szymański, was positioned alongside him in the midfield.
The match against the weakest team in the championship group was great for AEK. Already in the fourth minute the guests made a counterattack, which ended with a goal.
At first, the defenders of the home team tried to take the ball out of the penalty area, but this ball went to Krychowiak, who was standing on the edge of the “sixteen”. The well-positioned pole didn’t hesitate for long and fired a quick shot.
The shot was so accurate that the ball fell into the net. Thus, the midfielder was able to enjoy the first goal at the new club. The match is still going on. AEK is already 2-0 up. In the injury time of the first half, Rota increased the score.
