The Minister of Health, Adam Nidzelsky, on Friday appointed the current acting head of the Medical Research Agency to the position of ABM Chair.
The agency’s role is, inter alia, to support the development of research in the field of medical sciences, health sciences and medical technologies, including non-commercial clinical trials of medical products and medical devices, as well as research on therapeutic processes, as well as research on management, development and improvement of the health care system.
The Agency’s activities include: Co-financing of scientific research and development work in the field of medical and health sciences as well as interdisciplinary projects selected through a competition, with a particular focus on clinical trials.
Sierpiński is a graduate of the Medical Faculty of Warsaw Medical University. In June 2018, he received his Ph.D. from the Institute of Cardiology in Warsaw. In 2019, he received his MBA in Medicine from Lazarski University in Warsaw. Graduated from the Oxford Executive Leadership Program organized by Saeed Business School and Oxford University.
He worked, among others, in the Department of Arrhythmia Disorders at the Warsaw Cardiology Institute and in private healthcare units, as a physician and medical director. In 2018-2019 he worked as an advisor to the Minister of Health ukasz Szumowski. In 2018-2020, he was a member of the Council of the National Center for Research and Development representing the Minister of Health and expert teams in the Minister of Health and the Minister of Science and Higher Education. In the years 2019-2020 he was a member of the supervisory board of PZU Zdrowie. He is a member of the European Commission’s expert panel on clinical trials.
The deadline for submissions in the ABM Head Competition announced by the Minister of Health was May 18. (PAP)
