I have already left Russia. A new demand is brewing in Asia

Kamchibek Tashiyev, head of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan, posted a photo on social media in which he was seen playing with a model of a Turkish Aksungur drone in his hands. It was mentioned in the commentary that the Kyrgyz army had bought several weapons of this type.

The image was meant to reassure Kyrgyz citizens, warn the Tajik authorities, and send a message that if another shootout occurred along the border, Kyrgyzstan would stop at nothing.

This is another episode of the 30-year-old conflict on the Tajik-Kyrgyz border, and it has recently escalated. Until a decade ago, people living in areas separated by borders would try to resolve their disputes with sticks and stones. Politicians came to the scene and de-escalated the conflict. However, the situation changed last spring, when serious clashes erupted between Tajik and Kyrgyz forces that lasted for several days, killing at least 50 people, and the war was on the brink. In the end, the diplomats agreed to a cease-fire.
