Iga Świątek’s partner in this year’s Roland Garros is Bethanie Mattek-Sands. The Polish and the American have already won two matches in the third round. On Friday, they beat Germany’s Anna-Lena Friedsam 7:5, 6:3, and Qiang Wang of China.
In the first set, Świątek and Mattek-Sands were 2:0. In an act that gave a break, the American played a brilliant comeback, and the Polish woman reviewed with a crush. After a while, the US delegate had an even worse moment. The strike broke the rear fly and delivered the order.
During the sixth game, there was a break of more than 40 minutes due to rain. After the match resumed, Świątek and Mattek-Sands patiently waited for their chance and it finally appeared. Before that, at 5:5, the American was under pressure, but kept her pass in her favour. Wang was broken in the twelfth inning. Matek Sands finished the group with an aerial shot.

In the second game, the American broke through at 3:1 with a superb forehand in the line. After a while, Świątek lost service. At the break point with a very good forehand, Wang Matic-Sands forced a foul. The Polish-American duo won the next two games, had more firepower, responded better to events on the court and was impressed by their reactions on the net.
The breakpoint is used at 4:2 2wiątek with a large lube. Wang fell on the court trying to start running, but nothing bad happened to her. Polish and American women have not given up the advantage of penetration. In the ninth game, the 20-year-old kept the pass from Razin without dropping a point. The match ended with a forehand kick by Kroos.
The next contenders for Švetik and Matek Sands will be Taiwanese Su Wei Hsieh, Belgium’s Elise Mertens or American Amanda Anisimova and Russia’s Anastasja Potapua, who are ranked first.
