As he explained, his ministry noted that the spa communes are a special place on the map of Poland, which requires special attention related to improving the climate.
“This is an unprecedented program in which a quarter of a billion zlotys will be allocated to Polish resorts. So that we Poles can enjoy them, but also that we can support them, so that we meet the expectations and ambitious plans of the resort authorities. That we will be able to enjoy the possibility in the coming summer months that our spas will be We are treated more and more, “- said Minister Cortika.
Thanks to the program aimed at spa communities, he emphasized, the resort wants to make it “a symbol of healthy air, healthy water and unpolluted surroundings.”
The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, in agreement with the Ministry of Climate and Environment, will implement a program through which each of the 45 spa communes can apply for a subsidy of up to 5 million PLN, which will be allocated to the implementation of the project to improve the quality of the natural environment.
Deputy Minister of Climate Irenus Ziska informed that 200 million PLN will be allocated to the task related to improving energy efficiency in buildings, including thermal modernization, and 50 million PLN has been spent on activities related to improving climate quality, including. Replacing ovens and protecting the environment.
“Spas need more financing due to investment restrictions related to this feature + spa +, but the spa law limits industry development and investment opportunities” – Zyska said.
The head of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, Maciej Chorowski, informed that applications under the program could be submitted in the third quarter of this year, and the funds could be transferred by the end of the year. He emphasized that the program is only intended for resort communities and entities in which this self-government has a 100% stake. Business entities operating in these communes will not be able to use them.
“We assume that no one knows better than a local farmer what needs to be done to improve the quality of life. We understand that every municipality may want to do something different for this money and let that be free. The index of eligible costs in this program. It will be so broad that the funds can be used.” In the best way, “- said Churovsky.
He stressed that spa communes make up one percent of all communes in Poland, but they should be “jewels in the crown”.
“It is an experiment, because we separated one percent of all municipalities and preferred them in some way. However, on the other hand, we are aware that these municipalities have different obligations than others. Hence, this new program is a complement to the very broad program + City z klimatem + And all the other programs implemented by our fund, “- said the head of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.
