Liverpool lose their home against Manchester City. The Reds lost 0-1 to Leicester City.
Liverpool should take the lead in the 16th minute. Mohamed Salah converted to a penalty but Kasper Schmeichel rebounded from his kick. Al-Masry still had a chance to bounce back, but he headed straight for the crossbar. The hosts managed to clear up the confusion in their purpose.
Liverpool had an advantage before the break, but was unable to convert it into a goal.
In the 56th minute, Brendan Rodgers let Ademola Lookman enter the field. The Englishman put the ball into the goal after three minutes. He stormed the penalty area aggressively and threw the ball into the net with his right foot. This was Leicester’s first shot on target in the match!
Liverpool stayed on the ball longer, and attacked, but nothing tangible resulted. Most of the chances were on set pieces, but Salah and Diogo Jota couldn’t get the ball into the goal.
For Liverpool, the defeat has major repercussions. Jurgen Klopp’s side are still second in the table, but they are eight points behind leaders Manchester City.
