Former WSA Krakow defender Marcelo left Olympique Lyonnais in January after six months on the reserve. Now L’Equipe reveals the strange reasons why the Brazilian was removed from the locker room.
An experienced stopwatch started the season in first team Lyon, but after 0-3 in the second round with Angers, he disappeared permanently from the team. Sporting director Juninho Pernambucano started the cleaning. From the start, he was supposed to hate Marcelo, so he kicked him out of the band on the pretext that he… farted in the locker room and laughed about it with his friends.
Marcelo played in the reserves all autumn and only at the end of January the parties reached an agreement on the termination of the contract. The former Wisła remained in France and moved to Girondins Bordeaux. There he regularly plays at Ligue 1 level again, but with him in the squad his new team hasn’t won a single match yet and is likely to fall by a wide margin. With a queue waiting to the end, the Girondins are four points behind the playoffs. They have lost their chances of getting direct support.
Marcelo has given concerts in Lyon since July 2017. He played 167 matches for his colors and scored 8 goals.
