McDonald’s is one of the biggest chains that started as a humble platform for hamburgers. It currently serves clients in more than a hundred countries around the world, generating annual revenue of approximately $20 billion.
The company was founded on May 15, 1940 in San Bernardino, California by brothers Richard and Maurice MacDonald. The company has been offering franchises since 1953.
The profits of the McDonald’s restaurant chain for 2020 exceeded 190 million PLN. In 2019, it was 231.5 million PLN. Despite the earnings drop, the company reported that sales in 2021 are higher than in record-breaking 2019.
McDonald’s Polska began operating in 1992, opening its first restaurant in Warsaw. Currently, there are more than 500 restaurant chains in Poland that employ 30,000 people. Approximately 90 percent of these are facilities operated by 83 entrepreneurs based on a franchise agreement with McDonald’s.
