This is Putin’s war, not the Russian people’s war. It must be understood that many people leave Russia because they do not agree with the local system. The decisions we make should not complicate our escape from the Russian dictatorship

Will there be a tourist visa ban for Russians?
As reported by Deutsche Welle, Marin said during the summit that it was not appropriate for Russians to visit the European Union and the Russian army to kill people in Ukraine. She added that the issue required further discussion by EU member states. “It’s not black and white, there are shades of gray,” she said.
Although Russians can no longer fly into the European Union directly from Russian airports, they can still obtain tourist visas from countries belonging to the Schengen area and travel to it from airports, among others in Finland, Estonia and Latvia, which they arrive at via land road. Last week, Kaja Klass urged on Twitter not to issue tourist visas to Russians. – I argued – staying in Europe is a privilege, not a human right.
Schengen visas can be issued for up to 90 days. They allow you to travel for tourism or business purposes. Estonia and Lithuania no longer export it to Russians, and Latvia does this only in exceptional circumstances (the death of the closest relative).
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Helsinki believes that Russians are using Finland as a transit point on their European vacation. The Finnish government is discussing a complete ban on issuing visas to Russians, but fears that national law does not provide for such a possibility.
A possible ban on the issuance of Schengen visas to Russians will be the subject of a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Prague on August 31.
