The accident occurred on Wednesday evening during a flight between Santiago de Chile and Asuncion International Airport.
Difficult weather conditions forced the crew to change direction to Brazilian Foz de Iguazu. A few hours later, it was decided that the plane carrying passengers for Paraguay would leave again. Meanwhile, no one could leave the machine waiting for the customs team to arrive.
