For the fourth time, the city has joined the Ministry of Family and Social Policy “Temporary Care” program, directed at family members or caregivers who need support in the form of a temporary temporary break in providing direct care to children with a disability certificate as well as to adults .. with a significant degree of disability .
Care will be provided at the person’s residence or at any other location indicated by the program participant or legal guardian.
As of January 2019, there are also 3 apartments of convenience for adults in the city – with autism spectrum, those with intellectual disabilities and moderate and severe disabilities.
By offering different forms of temporary care, we want to support family members and caregivers who provide direct and lasting care for people with disabilities. These people need temporary and temporary help in this form. For parents and guardians, it gives the opportunity to rest in constant care, looking after their health and well-being, while for adults with disabilities, it is an opportunity to preserve acquired skills – said Mayor Tadeusz Truskolski.
Sponsorship will be provided at the residence of a person with a disability or in another location designated by two entities selected in an open competition for bids. They are: the “Active” association to support the activity of the intellectually disabled in Białystok and the social cooperative “Socors” in Zaczyanki.
This support will be provided upon the written request of the caregiver on the basis of a decision of the Municipal Family Support Center in Białystok. An application for a service must be submitted to the team of social workers at the place of residence.
