Royal Iceing is perfect for decorating Christmas cookies and gingerbread cookies. You can conjure real wonders from it, because it will be ideal for the most refined decoration. It’s hard to say that cream frosting is healthy, because it is mainly made of sugar, but homemade ones have the simplest possible composition and do not contain unnecessary enhancers. One teaspoon of this cream is about 30 calories.
How do you make the perfect royal icing?
Three ingredients are enough: egg whites, powdered sugar and a little lemon juice. The key to making a good whipped cream is to mix the ingredients properly. There are no shortcuts here. A mixer is not a good solution, because quick mixing will aerate the decoration, and we want to avoid that (air bubbles will make decorating difficult, especially with small, delicate items). At home, it is better to mix the garnish by hand with a fork. It will be more convenient to move the cup. And here you need patience: it is better to sit comfortably in front of the TV and Heart decorations for up to 20 minutes. If the frosting is too thick, add a few drops of lemon juice. If it is too liquid, you can thicken it with sugar. But our advice is different: add a little potato flour.
Important: raw protein is used to make the frosting, so be sure to burn the egg before cracking it.
How to use Royal Icing?
You can dye the ice with any dyes. To decorate baked goods, place garnishes in pastry wrappers, baking paper tubes, a bag, or even a document shirt. The smaller the buttonhole, the more accurate the decorations you will make. Royal cream can be stored in the refrigerator for several days, just cover it tightly (for example with plastic film) and stir again before reusing. Always leave the gingerbread cream on the gingerbread to dry. If you are making intricate patterns and applying several layers on top of each other, let the following layers dry well before applying the next. Royal Iceing is perfect for decorating and pasting gingerbread houses.
