Exactly 464 talented students in Turku schools and those studying in other towns and cities who live in Turku daily, that is, on September 12, 2021, received a scientific scholarship from the Mayor of Turku. The total funds allocated to support youth this year amounted to about 480 thousand. zloty.
The scholarship is awarded to primary school students and high school students registered in Turek, who at the end of the previous academic year had a GPA of at least 5.0. The scholarship for primary school students is PLN 100, and for secondary school students PLN 120, it is paid for 10 months. The students received their scholarships on stage in the Market Square, from the hands of Mayor Romuald Antosek, Mariola Kadrzynska Swiek – Mayor of Turku City Council, and councilors Wojciech Regert and Bäwe Kwiatkowski.
It should be noted that since 2015, the number of scholarships has increased (in 2011 – 83 scholarships, in 2012 – 81 scholarships, in 2013 – 88 scholarships, in 2014 – 86, in 2015 – 178, in 2016 – 236 scholarship recipients, in 2017–243, in 2018–323, in 2019414 and in 2020 461 scholarship holders). Likewise, the amount of funds for this support for the most talented students is increasing year by year.
