Tauron will build the largest solar farm in Poland

For the implementation of the first stage, Tauron will receive 82.5 million PLN as an interest-free loan, with the possibility of recovering up to 24 million PLN from eligible costs. The co-financing contract of the Infrastructure and Environment Operation Program 2014-2020 was concluded with the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.

Works will start in the first quarter of 2022. 94,000 units will be installed in Misovice. Photovoltaic panels with a total area of ​​16 hectares, equivalent to 22 football fields. It is estimated that the installation will produce 39 thousand. Megawatt-hour of green energy. This power meets the annual needs of 16 thousand. families. The first electricity will flow from the farm in 2023.

– The use of the group’s post-industrial areas for the construction of photovoltaic farms is one of the main directions of building new green energy in the production mix of Torun. We launched the first such farm in Jaworzno, and today we are starting to invest in Mysłowice on a much larger scale – says Artur Michalowski, Acting President of Tauron.

At the end of December 2020, Torun started operating its first 5MW solar farm in Gauruzno. In mid-January 2022, he completed the construction of the Choszczno II photovoltaic power plant in the West Pomeranian province with a capacity of 8 MW. In addition, for less than a year, power was also produced by the installation of Choszczno I with a total capacity of 6 MW.
