The cricket world is in mourning. Andrew Symonds, Australian sports icon, has died at the age of 46. He died in a tragic car accident.

The local cricket association announced the death of the Australian.
Meanwhile, CNN is publishing on its website information from Queensland Police about Andrew Symonds’ car accident.
The accident occurred 50 kilometers from Townsville. At the scene of the accident, rescuers resuscitated the athlete, but to no avail. He died of his injuries. The accident happened around 23:00 local time.
Symonds represented the Australian cricket team from 2004 to 2008.
“We are shocked and saddened by the news regarding the passing of iconic superstar and hero Andrew Symonds. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult moment” – we read on the Twitter account of Kent County Cricket Club, whose colors were represented by the Australian.
After his retirement, Symonds worked as a cricket commentator for Fox Sports.
