Maximilian Oyedele from Manchester United made his debut in the Poland junior national team. “I’ve been honored,” the 17-year-old midfielder admitted.
Oyedele is the son of a Polish and Nigerian woman. He plays for the youth teams of Manchester United. He recently made his debut with the Polish national under-18 team.
– I was honored to be able to play in Polish colors and I really liked it. Then I went back to the club and played two games and scored goals. These have been very successful weeks – Oyedele said in an interview with “tvpsport.pl”.
The young football player had a lot of options. Due to his parents’ origin and place of residence, he can also play for Nigeria and England.
– I have affection for all three countries. However, it was the Polish Federation that first introduced me. As I said, it is an honor for me to play for the Polish national team. I hope to have more careers and hope to continue to be a part of it in the future. I am still amazed – I can now say that I am a Polish footballer. But of course we will see what the future holds Oyedele confirms.
The teenager admitted that his appointment to the crew was a great step in his career. The fact that he had come to Poland in the past helped him adapt to the team.
– Before the outbreak of the epidemic, I was visiting my family regularly in the country. Then, due to restrictions and their compromise with training at the club, I could not stand it. But in the company of fellow employees, I felt like I was among my “family”. I would like to improve my Polish, which will definitely help – summed up.
