– The fourth wave of coronavirus will come – There is no doubt that Professor Majorzata Pols-Dasevic, Head of the Department of Virology at the SARS Laboratory of the Medical University of Lublin, who was a guest of the morning conversation on Radio Lublin.
He also shows, although the number of new infections is not yet high, given the upward trend in Poland and the large volume of cases in other countries, one must prepare for the development of a pandemic.
– This is the moment when you must be vaccinated for your health. The more the better – adds Professor Polz-Dacewicz. If one person infected with the British variant infects two people, one person with delta virus may infect up to eight people. This proves the great ease with which the virus spreads. The largest group of unvaccinated people is young people, so everyone thinks a wave will hit this group. She adds that vaccinated people can also be infected, but the vaccines protect enough that you don’t develop a clinically severe form of the disease.
