© Reuters. US stocks edge lower in late trade; The Dow Jones industrial average fell 1.55% – U.S. stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in stocks and sectors eased.

At the close in New York, the index lost 1.55%, while the index fell 2.50% and the index lost 3.36%.

The company recorded the best result in index component Boeing Co (NYSE:), which was up 2.74% or 3.93 points to trade at 147.31. Meanwhile, the company Verizon Communications Inc (NYSE: ) added 0.88% or 0.33 points to trade at 37.70. Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE: ) was up 0.51% or 1.79 points to 350.37.

The worst performers of the session were Salesforce Inc (NYSE:), which fell 6.17% or 9.86 points to trade at 149.96. The Vault Company Disney Company (NYSE:) declined 3.93% or 4.17 points to 101.83 while Apple Inc (NASDAQ:) declined 3.73% or 5.62 points to 101.83. It ended at 145.03.

Among the components of the S&P 500 index, the company posted the best result Match Group Inc (NASDAQ:), gained 4.19% to end the session at 45.74. Charles River Laboratories (NYSE:) fell 3.70% to 214.95, while Dupont De Nemours Inc (NYSE:) rose 3.07% to 60.50.

The company recorded huge losses Devon Energy Corporation (NYSE:), which fell 12.77% to 67.43. By the end of trading, Paramount Global Class B (NASDAQ:) lost 12.42% to end the trading day at 16.79, while the company Extra space saving Inc (NYSE: ) rose 10.92% to 158.46.

The best performer of the session on the NASDAQ composite was BenefitFocus Inc (NASDAQ: ), which rose 48.21% to trade at 10.36 at the close. Company Forza X1 Inc (NASDAQ:) fell 44.97% to trade at 2.45, and the company bandwidth Inc (NASDAQ:), which rose 41.63% to 17.42.

The company recorded huge losses Cardlytics Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell 53.41% to end the session at 4.51. By the close of trade, Enovix Corp (NASDAQ:) lost 41.47% to end the trading day at 10.53, while Celina Hospitality (NASDAQ:) gained 36.62% to 6.30.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 2474 to 593 on the New York Stock Exchange and ended the session unchanged at 96. On the other hand, among NASDAQ-listed companies, 2,857 of them fell and 946 rose, while 122 remained unchanged.

Shares of Paramount Global Class B (NASDAQ: ) fell to a 52-week low, losing 12.42% or 2.38 to end the session at 16.79. Shares of Extra Space Storage Inc (NYSE: ) dipped 10.92% or 19.43 to close at 158.46, hitting a 52-week low. Shares of Cardlytics Inc (NASDAQ: ) fell to an all-time low, dropping 53.41% or 5.17 to end the session at 4.51. Shares of Celina Hospitality (NASDAQ:) traded down 36.62% or 3.64 to close at 6.30 PM, hitting an all-time low.

Implied volatility, which measures S&P 500 options, rose 0.19% to 25.86.

Gold futures for December delivery fell 0.67%, or 11.05 to $1.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.97% or 0.86 to settle at $89.23 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.93% or 0.88 to settle at $95.53 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged at 0.49% at 0.98, while USD/JPY was down 0.31% at 147.82.

US dollar index futures were up 0.50% at 111.92.
