US President Joe Biden will travel to Great Britain, Belgium and Switzerland on his first foreign trip. White House Press Secretary Jen Zhaki said on Thursday that the visit to Europe was a demonstration of US commitment to rebuilding alliances and reviving Atlantic relations.
– First Lady Jill Biden will join the President while staying in the UK. “This trip underscores the commitment of the United States to rebuild our alliances, revitalize Atlantic relations and work closely with our allies and multilateral partners to better address global challenges and better protect the interests of the United States,” said White House Press Secretary Jen Zaki.
“It underscores our commitment to a strong Atlantic partnership.”
He described Joe Biden as meeting with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on June 10 and attending the G7 summit in Cornwall on June 11 and 12. – It will strengthen our commitment to diversity (…) in implementing key policy priorities in public health, economic recovery and climate change, and demonstrate the unity and shared values of the largest democracies – Spokesman.
On June 13, the President will hold bilateral meetings with G7 leaders, who will meet with his wife, British Queen Elizabeth II. In Brussels, the US president will attend the NATO summit on June 14. “President Biden will reaffirm US commitment to NATO, Atlantic security and joint security,” Zaki said.
Biden will attend the US-EU summit in Brussels on June 15. “It underscores our commitment to a strong Atlantic partnership based on shared interests and values,” the spokesman explained. He also announced that a bilateral summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled for June 16 in Geneva.
