A dozen or more representatives of the Polish community abroad were honored with statues for a great pole. They are the winners of the competition of the Polish advertising icon “Theres Bolska” Foundation, which creates a positive image of Poles living abroad and shows their achievements.
Dr. is a film professor at CUNY University, New York. He is a screenwriter, director, producer and a member of the board of the Polish National Film School in dź.
“My research on the Polish roots of Hollywood has informed many Poles about the pioneers of world cinematography, including Billy Wilder, Samuel Goldwyn, Louis P. Meyer, Fred Ginnemann and the Warner brothers,” Krakowski told PAP.
The title of a great pole was given to Dr. Alexandra Jiolkovsky-Bohm, author of several dozen books and publications in Poland, USA and Canada. Just to pick up the statue at a book fair in Warsaw.
Writer, Dr. Hop. Danuda Pitkovska. Author of books dedicated mainly to Polish immigrants, including a study of “Polish Churches in New York”.
The statue was presented to businessman Oscar Kowalski. Recently, he made his center in Poland available to 300 Ukrainian families.
The awards were presented at the New York Embassy in the Republic of Poland by Consul General Adrian Kubiki and the Chairman of the Foundation, Christoph Precipile. They also went to Krzysztof Galik, Greg Wisniewski, Janusz Młynek, Brian Rusek, Janusz Skowron, Paweł Wierzbicki, Daniel Kurzyna, Bartek Szymański, Edward Dobosiewicz and Janusz Gilewicz.
Grzegorz Fryc, head of the New York edition of the competition, stressed that the competition started 12 years ago in this city. It later expanded to eight other countries. These awards are considered the most valuable NGO awards for Poles living abroad.
